Protein Jelly Recipe

Whether you’re looking to tone up, lose weight, or achieve your dream body, there is no denying that protein plays a crucial role and is perhaps the most important macronutrient when it comes to eating a healthy diet.

Though, one of the most difficult challenges when achieving such goals is maintaining healthy eating habits. What can often get in the way is sweet cravings!

While you can fulfill these cravings with actual sweet treats in moderation, there are also ways to incorporate more nutritious sweet treats into your diet.

It’s best to get the majority of your protein intake from whole food sources, such as chicken, beef, fish, eggs, dairy, and soya, but utilizing the sweetness and convenience of whey protein powder is a great way to boost your daily protein intake while kicking sweet cravings to the curb.

Introducing one of the most underrated high-protein recipes - protein jelly!

Protein Jelly Recipe

This is a very quick, versatile, low-calorie, high-protein recipe that you can enjoy at any time of the day.

You have the option to use sugar-free gelatine powder for a low-calorie snack, or the full-sugar version, which can be a good option if you require a hit of fast-digesting carbohydrates and protein before a workout!

Utensils required: a food processor, fridge, and silicone molds.

Ingredients

  • 23g flavored gelatine (a flavor of your choice)
  • 570ml boiling hot water
  • 60g whey protein powder (ideally the same flavor as the jelly)
  • 570ml plant milk of your choice

Method

  1. Boil the kettle
  2. Pour the water into a blender jug along with the gelatine, milk, and protein powder
  3. Combine all ingredients until smooth
  4. Pour the mixture into the molds
  5. Allow cooling in the fridge overnight
  6. Remove from the molds and enjoy!

You have the power to choose whether this recipe has more or fewer carbohydrates, depending on your fitness goals. Additionally, you can also add fruit to the molds, such as strawberries or raspberries, to add some more fibrous flavor.

Good luck and enjoy!
